TRANSPORT & SHIPPING

With a fleet of eight Art Spec Vehicles, there is no job too big that we cannot transport. Our fleet are of the highest standard. They are all climate controlled, GPS tracked, have air suspension and alarmed for the maximum safety of your pieces.

All drivers have full licences and carry out routine checks every day to make sure every van/truck is safe and road-worthy. When in transit you can choose to also have your pieces wrapped in softcloth wrapping or bubble-wrap. Every item is insured from nail to nail for the utmost safety.

For all customs requirement on international shipments we handle this in house.

CRATING

Our crates are custom-built here at Irish Art Services and are unique to your requirements. All crates are built for minimum amount of movement of the item, ensuring that they are safe and secure.

Out-of-gauge crates are absolutely no problem & are routine.

On request our crates can be insulated, this may be more suitable for long haul, international journeys. All crates are based on the museum- standard crate to ensure they are of the highest quality.

INSTALLATION

For installation, our team of 6 professionally trained, full time art handlers & 4 part time art handlers, led by Wayne Scully, are more than qualified to do the job. We have partnered with the top health and safety practitioners in the country to ensure our technicians are working in the safest possible manner.

Through this we can also provide risk assessments and safety statements for any concerned clients.
We are also equipped with the required qualifications for completing high- installs, our techs have carried out the SOLAS “Working with Heights” course which allows them to work with scaffolding, ladders and ‘cherry picker’ lift equipment. We also carry equipment which can allow for more secure installs, such as ryman fixings and various other tools.

We have our own range of specialised equipment that gives us more scope for those unusual jobs that require installs/ deinstalls at height or movement of exceptionally awkward or heavy works in indoor or tight spaces. Our Gantry Cranes can lift 2 tonnes in the tightest spaces & lift to a height of 400cm & move under a load. Our Lifting Tables can lift 800kg to a height of 150cm. Our Load Lifters can lift & carry 1800kg with minimal effort. Our electric crawler crane can fit thru a double door & lift 1 tonne. Our SLK can lift a large painting or sculpture weighing 400kg to a height of 650cm in the smallest of spaces. And our Sculpture Robot can carry 1000kg up and down stairs & over uneven ground.

STORAGE

With climate- controlled, museum standard stores in both Munster and in Dublin we can accomodate for over 21,000 square feet of storage. Our storage is closely monitored by on site & third party security.

With state-of-the-art facilities, we can accommodate all requirements.

We have the largest dedicated private art storage facilities in Ireland & store up to 6500 pieces at any one time.

Our newest facility is two floors of museum standard storage, ultra modern with a huge emphasis on our carbon footprint with minimal carbon emmisions. Implementing and utilising the latest and most modern insulation techniques, our facility is passive with minimal electricity use.
